My art-making has been profoundly shaped by the pandemic. The world has become small and at times, menacing. At first I sought refuge in my work, imagining quiet safe places to shelter. By late spring, my work seemed to mirror the agony of the world, misshapen, fragmented and fragile, yet still beautiful. How and where would we live once this nightmare was over. By summer I finally found my rage.
